IMAN Cosmetics will collaborate with the Somali design duo, Mataano, who have signed on as the makeup and skincare collection’s brand ambassadors. They had teamed up for last season’s, Spring/Summer 2012 runway show. To kick off the partnership, IMAN Cosmetics will be the lead sponsor for the twin designers’ Fall 2012 runway show on February 12th, 2012. Founded in 1994, IMAN Cosmetics are designed for African American, Asian, Latina and multi-cultural women with skin tones in a myriad of shades. The Mataano sisters will collaborate with the brand on upcoming global events, Fashion Week shows, a limited editorial color collection and IMAN Cosmetics’ Fall 2012 campaign.

Ayaan and Idyl Mohallim emerged on the fashion scene in 2008 showcasing a brand with rich culture and talent, at 20 years of age. Their designs tap into their Somali, and American heritage, lending a multicultural approach to the collection.

“It’s an honor to represent and have the support of a makeup giant like IMAN Cosmetics. IMAN Cosmetics is about providing options for all different shades of skin and acknowledging and addressing variety in beauty and cosmetics,” said Idyl Mohallim. “It is necessary that our runway models reflect the diversity of our designs and we are grateful to have access to IMAN Cosmetics to complete the look,” adds co-founder Ayaan Mohallim.
